Cresco Equipment Rentals and Peterson is hiring an Equipment Mechanic in Northern California. You will maintain, diagnose, and repair a range of light and heavy construction equipment to keep them Rental Ready and safe to operate.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, coordinating parts, and assisting with customer service and yard operations. Must have a valid driver's license and at least one year of related experience. Competitive wages and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of directly related experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
• Experience with heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Job Description

Summary

The Equipment Mechanic ensures light and heavy rental equipment is properly maintained, safe, and well‑prepared for use. Primary responsibilities include mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections of equipment; evaluating equipment condition; coordinating parts needs; and supporting customer service; and inventory control functions.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of light and heavy construction equipment and tools to ensure they are Rental Ready and safe to operate.
• Conduct damage assessments, complete reports of equipment damage, and record hours used, mileage, and fuel levels.
• Perform safety and compliance inspections of equipment and company vehicles per manufacturer, company, ANSI, OSHA, or other regulation standards.
• Perform timely equipment check out/check in.
• Load and unload equipment and attachments.
• Coordinate parts needs, complete parts orders, and assist with maintaining parts inventory.
• Follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work.
• Keep work area clean throughout day to ensure and maintain a safe work environment.
• Demonstrate equipment operation to customers.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, rules, and laws as well as Cresco Operational Procedures and quality control (QC) Standards.
• Greet internal and external customers and assist with their inquiries.
• Assist with washing and cleaning equipment and moving equipment around rental yard.
• Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines.
• Operate company vehicle regularly to perform essential job functions.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience in equipment repair and maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Previous mechanical service experience in the heavy equipment, construction, and/or related industry is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

The hourly pay range for this position is: $30.00 - $34.00 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)#INDM
