Job summary

Cresco Equipment Rentals in Redding, CA is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a range of light and heavy equipment. You will perform safety inspections, document equipment condition, and coordinate parts needs while supporting customer service and inventory control.

A valid driver’s license is required, with at least one year of related maintenance experience preferred. Position may require overtime and travel between yard locations.

Primary responsibilities include mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections of equipment; evaluating equipment condition; coordinating parts needs; and supporting customer service; and inventory control functions.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Other duties may be assigned.Maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of light and heavy construction equipment and tools to ensure they are Rental Ready and safe to operate.Conduct damage assessments, complete reports of equipment damage, and record hours used, mileage, and fuel levels.Perform safety and compliance inspections of equipment and company vehicles per manufacturer, company, ANSI, OSHA, or other regulation standards.Perform timely equipment check out/check in.Load and unload equipment and attachments.Coordinate parts needs, complete parts orders, and assist with maintaining parts inventory.Follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work.Keep work area clean throughout day to ensure and maintain a safe work environment.Demonstrate equipment operation to customers.Follow all safety policies, procedures, rules, and laws as well as Cresco Operational Procedures and quality control (QC) Standards.Greet internal and external customers and assist with their inquiries.Assist with washing and cleaning equipment and moving equipment around rental yard.Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines.Operate company vehicle regularly to perform essential job functions.Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience in equipment repair and maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Previous mechanical service experience in the heavy equipment, construction, and/or related industry is required.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.The hourly pay range for this position is: $30.00 - $34.00 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education.
