Job summary

Cresco Equipment Rentals has a need for an Equipment Mechanic at our Redding, CA location. The Equipment Mechanic ensures light and heavy rental equipment is properly maintained, safe, and well-prepared for use.

Primary responsibilities include mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections; coordinating parts needs; and supporting customer service and inventory control functions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of related equipment repair experience.
• Experience in heavy equipment, construction, or related industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair light and heavy construction equipment to keep it Rental Ready and safe to operate.
• Conduct damage assessments and document equipment usage, hours, and fuel.
• Perform safety and compliance inspections per company and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate parts needs and assist with inventory control.

SUMMARY

The Equipment Mechanic ensures light and heavy rental equipment is properly maintained, safe, and well-prepared for use. Primary responsibilities include mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections of equipment; evaluating equipment condition; coordinating parts needs; and supporting customer service; and inventory control functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of light and heavy construction equipment and tools to ensure they are Rental Ready and safe to operate.
• Conduct damage assessments, complete reports of equipment damage, and record hours used, mileage, and fuel levels.
• Perform safety and compliance inspections of equipment and company vehicles per manufacturer, company, ANSI, OSHA, or other regulation standards.
• Perform timely equipment check out/check in.
• Load and unload equipment and attachments.
• Coordinate parts needs, complete parts orders, and assist with maintaining parts inventory.
• Follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work.
• Keep work area clean throughout day to ensure and maintain a safe work environment.
• Demonstrate equipment operation to customers.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, rules, and laws as well as Cresco Operational Procedures and quality control (QC) Standards.
• Greet internal and external customers and assist with their inquiries.
• Assist with washing and cleaning equipment and moving equipment around rental yard.
• Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines.
• Operate company vehicle regularly to perform essential job functions.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience in equipment repair and maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Previous mechanical service experience in the heavy equipment, construction, and/or related industry is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

T he hourly pay range for this position is: $30.00 - $34.00 (Starting wage Will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
