Job Title: Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

As an Equipment Mechanic on the Maintenance team, you perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across facility systems and heavy industrial equipment. You use blueprints, schematics, small and power tools, and electronic test equipment to diagnose and resolve operating problems involving plumbing, electrical systems and components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures, switches and power sources, as well as mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. This role offers hands‑on learning, exposure to diverse technologies, and opportunities to grow your skills over time.

Responsibilities

• Use blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to plan and perform maintenance and repair activities on facility systems and equipment.

• Diagnose and determine causes of operating problems in plumbing, electrical systems and components, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveyors, electrical components, and heavy equipment, to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

• Conduct repairs and adjustments on conveyors, heavy equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

• Perform electrical troubleshooting on equipment and facility systems using appropriate test equipment and tools.

• Carry out facilities maintenance tasks, including work on electric‑rical fixtures, switches, and power sources, as needed to support operations.

• Use small tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance assignments.

• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in a clear and accurate manner according to site procedures.

• Collaborate with other maintenance and operations team members to prioritize work, support production needs, and maintain a safe working environment.

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and training, including MSHA training, while working in hot and outdoor conditions and during overtime when required.

Work Environment

You regularly use small tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment while servicing conveyors, heavy equipment, and facility systems. The environment requires practical, durable work attire suitable for outdoor and industrial conditions, with adherence to all site safety and protective equipment requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
