Job summary

ACCIONA is hiring for an Equipment Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance plan for construction equipment. You will oversee policies, track inventory, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate repairs with Operations management.

The role requires leading a high-performing team, managing budgets, and maintaining supplier relationships to minimize downtime and delays on large projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering or related field with 10+ years equipment logistics experience.
  • Alternatively, HS diploma with 14+ years equipment logistics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all construction equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, including usage, maintenance, and repair histories.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety regulations through inspections and audits.
  • Schedule and coordinate equipment repairs with Operations management.
  • Track all rental equipment and solicit from multiple dealers to get best prices.
  • Manage the equipment budget, including forecasting costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Address equipment-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and project delays.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers.
  • Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching and recruiting.
  • Supervise team, including training, direction, performance reviews and salary actions.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Description
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all construction equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for Equipment department.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, including usage, maintenance, and repair histories.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety regulations and standards, conducting regular inspections and audits.
  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating equipment repairs with Operations management.
  • Track all rental equipment, solicit from multiple dealers to get the best prices, schedule in/out dates with Operations Management.
  • Manage the equipment budget, including forecasting costs and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Address and resolve equipment‑related issues promptly to minimize downtime and project delays.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers.
  • Hire, motivate, and lead a high‑performing team through coaching, top‑tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
  • Supervise team, including training, providing work direction, problem‑solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
  • Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
  • Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best serve the business operations.
  • Ability to maintain a valid and current driver's license.
Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, the Equipment Manager must have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or related field of study along with at least 10+ years of related equipment logistics experience in the construction industry, proven knowledge of construction equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations, proficient with inventory management software and tools, and a valid and current driver’s license. Or a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 14+ years of related equipment logistics experience in the construction industry, proven knowledge of construction equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations, proficient with inventory management software and tools, and a valid and current driver’s license. Certification in Equipment Management is preferred.
