Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking a Laborer to support welders, mechanics, and supervisors in shop and field settings in Elko, Nevada. You will help prepare materials, maintain equipment readiness, and contribute to safe, efficient repairs while learning welding and machinery maintenance.

Candidates should be prepared to follow detailed instructions, work as part of a diverse team, and participate in training to expand technical skills and safety knowledge on the job.

Qualifications

• Completion of Forklift, Sand Blast Booth, Fire Extinguisher, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Fall Protection, and Hexchromium task training certifications demonstrates readiness to safely handle specialized equipment and environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols and promoting safe practices.
• Assist Welders and Mechanics by preparing materials, tools, and work areas for welding and mechanical tasks.
• Support complex repairs by helping layout components for precise, high‑quality work.
• Observe equipment needs and help develop repair plans under supervision.
• Troubleshoot minor issues on welding machines and tooling to improve uptime.
