Job summary

onsemi EFK seeks skilled technicians for a 300mm fab in Hopewell Junction, NY. The role focuses on equipment maintenance to resolve issues, supporting a 12-hour night shift with a 15% differential.

Sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered, paid in four quarterly installments. A background in semiconductor fab or technical support and strong troubleshooting are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab or technical-support role preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to isolate and remedy complex issues on advanced equipment.
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control, and qualify state-of-the-art 300mm Rie Dry Etch semiconductor equipment.
• Perform and teach preventive maintenance activities.
• React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment.
• Review SPC charts and other indicators for process quality and react to OOC conditions.
• Perform and teach visual inspections (quality checks).
• Recover from process and tool interruptions.
• Identify areas for improvement to optimize tool availability and cost.
• Complete reporting and documentation as required.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Job description

onsemi EFK is seeking highly skilled and motivated technicians to become part of our state-of-the-art 300mm factory in Hopewell Junction, East Fishkill, New York. Equipment/Maintenance Technicians sustain and run the fab floor with the primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Technician positions are shift positions working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. onsemi is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Night Shift 1 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday e/o Saturday 6:30 pm - 7:00 am Includes 15% Shift Differential

Sign-on bonus: $5,000

Sign-On Bonus: Subject to your commencing employment with us, you will also be eligible to receive a sign-on award in the gross amount of $5,000, which will be paid in 4 quarterly payments of $1,250 each (subject to applicable taxes and payroll deductions). The first payment is payable within the first 30 days of you joining onsemi and quarterly thereafter for 3 additional payments. You must be an active employee with onsemi to receive these sign-on awards. In addition, if your employment is terminated with onsemi for any reason, the sign-on award(s) received as of the date of your termination do not need to be repaid to onsemi

• Monitor, control, and qualify state of the art 300mm Rie Dry Etch semiconductor equipment
• Perform, and teach others how to perform, preventive maintenance activities
• React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
• Review Statistical Process Control charts and other system indicators for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
• Perform, and teach others how to perform, visual inspections (quality check)
• Recover from process and tool interruptions
• Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
• Complete all required reporting and documentation
• Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
• Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
• Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Education

High School Degree (or equivalent)

Experience

2+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab or technical support role preferred.

Technical knowledge

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, vacuum technology, and plasma physics.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.

Problem-solving

Excellent troubleshooting skills to isolate and remedy complex issues on advanced equipment.

Adaptability

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while dealing with shifting priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing facility.

Collaboration

Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Willingness to work flexible shifts.

Physical Capacity Demands

• Able to perform shift work on a 12-hour night shift schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment per Semiconductor industry and onsemi protocol/requirements.
• Able to wear all required clean room and safety protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12-hour day (excluding breaks).
• Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.
• Able to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
• Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.

Hourly

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $23.51 to $41.06 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
