Qualifications

• Familiarity with Rie semiconductor process modules/equipment (Axcellis, LAM, Tel).
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex issues on advanced equipment.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour night shifts in a 24/7 fab.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control, and qualify state of the art 300mm Rie Dry Etch semiconductor equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and teach others how to perform it.
• Respond to error messages from factory systems and equipment.
• Review SPC charts and react to Out of Control conditions.
• Perform visual inspections and document findings.
• Support tool availability, cycle time, and cost optimization.
• Complete all required reporting and documentation.
• Follow health, safety, environmental procedures.

Equipment/Maintenance Technicians sustain and run the fab floor with the primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Technician positions are shift positions working a compressed week of 12‑hour shifts. onsemi is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

• Night shift 2: Wednesday, Thurs, Friday, e/o Saturday 6:30 PM‑7:00 AM Includes 15% Shift Differential

Sign‑on bonus: $5,000

Subject to your commencing employment with us, you will also be eligible to receive a sign‑on award in the gross amount of $5,000, which will be paid in 4 quarterly payments of $1,250 each (subject to applicable taxes and payroll deductions). The first payment is payable within the first 30 days of you joining onsemi and quarterly thereafter for 3 additional payments. You must be an active employee with onsemi to receive these sign‑on awards. In addition, if your employment is terminated with onsemi for any reason, the sign‑on award(s) received as of the date of your termination do not need to be repaid to onsemi

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control, and qualify state of the art 300mm Rie Dry Etch semiconductor equipment
• Perform, and teach others how to perform, preventive maintenance activities
• React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
• Review Statistical Process Control charts and other system indicators for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
• Perform, and teach others how to perform, visual inspections (quality check)
• Recover from process and tool interruptions
• Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
• Complete all required reporting and documentation
• Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
• Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
• Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)
• 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab or technical support role preferred.
• Familiarity with Rie semiconductor process modules and equipment (e.g., Axcellis, LAM, Tel)
• Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, vacuum technology, and plasma physics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to isolate and remedy complex issues on advanced equipment.
• Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while dealing with shifting priorities in a fast‑paced, 24/7 manufacturing facility.
• Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts.
• Physical Capacity Demands – Able to perform shift work on a 12‑hour night shift schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment per Semiconductor industry and onsemi protocol/requirements.
• Able to wear all required clean room and safety protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12‑hour day (excluding breaks).
• Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.
• Able to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12‑hour shift (excluding breaks)
• Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.

Hourly: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $23.51 to $41.06 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
