Job summary

onsemi EFK seeks skilled technicians for our 300mm fab in Hopewell Junction, NY. Positions are 12-hour night shifts, with a compressed work week and global team collaboration.

Responsibilities include metrology equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimization. Candidates should have 4+ years in semiconductor environments and be able to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 facility while maintaining safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab or technical support role preferred.
• Familiarity with Metrology semiconductor process modules and equipment (e.g. Applied Materials, KLA, Rigaku, etc.)
• Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, vacuum technology. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to isolate and remedy complex issues on advanced equipment.
• Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while dealing with shifting priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing facility.
• Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control, and qualify state of the art 300mm Metrology semiconductor equipment.
• Perform, and teach others how to perform, preventive maintenance and corrective activities.
• React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment.
• Review SPC charts and other indicators for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting.
• Perform, and teach others how to perform, visual inspections (quality check).
• Recover from process and tool interruptions.
• Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost.
• Complete all required reporting and documentation.
• Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development.
• Strong team member, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support EH&S requirements.

onsemi EFK is seeking highly skilled and motivated technicians to become part of our state-of-the-art 300mm factory in Hopewell Junction, East Fishkill, New York. Equipment/Maintenance Technicians sustain and run the fab floor with the primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Technician positions are shift positions working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. onsemi is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)

Physical Capacity Demands - Able to perform shift work on a 12-hour night shift schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment per Semiconductor industry and onsemi protocol/requirements.

Able to wear all required clean room and safety protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12-hour day (excluding breaks).

Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.

Able to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)

Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.

Employees in this role may be required to participate in the site Emergency Response Brigade and support emergency preparedness activities. Participation includes maintaining required training, certifications, and response readiness in accordance with site policies and business needs.

Hourly: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $25.53 to $44.76 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
