Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in West Lafayette, IN is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician I to perform basic preventive maintenance on production equipment and assist supervisors and senior technicians as needed. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in electronic technology or equivalent, plus knowledge of analog/digital electronics, mechanical systems, and modern test equipment.

Proficiency in Excel/Word/Access is required.

Job description

Equipment Maintenance Technician I

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Process Engineering team in Manufacturing Operations as an Equipment Maintenance Technician I in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Must be willing and able to travel during the first 4-6 months of employment for training, totaling approximately 8-12 weeks in two-week increments.

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician I you'll be responsible for independently performing preventative maintenance of basic complexity on manufacturing equipment, as well as working under the guidance of Supervisor and Tech IIs and IIIs to complete tasks as needed.

Typical Day

• Performing basic troubleshooting and repair of issues found during preventive maintenance and reactive calls.
• Entering and maintaining accurate entries in the equipment maintenance database.
• Learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

It is a plus if you have:

• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment, including analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits as well as vision and robotics systems.
• Basic knowledge of programming automated production equipment.
• Basic knowledge of printed circuit board assembly, mechanical assembly, and cable assembly processes.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $35.38 - $51.10 per hour (plus $5.00/hr 2nd shift differential)

• Equipment Maintenance Technician I: $35.38 - $51.10 per hour
• Equipment Maintenance Technician II: $38.33 - $55.44 per hour
• Equipment Maintenance Technician III: $43.00 - $62.35 per hour
