Job summary

Vermeer in Iowa is seeking a technically minded maintenance technician for the third shift to perform preventive maintenance across manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. You will support repairs and maintenance in a team-focused environment, helping production stay efficient and safe.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, troubleshooting, reading blueprints and schematics, using Thrive for maintenance data, and obtaining LO/TO certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/HiSet with 2+ years of basic trades/manufacturing experience; or an associate’s degree in basic trades; or equivalent education/experience; Vermeer manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate hand and power tools, volt meters, read blueprints and electrical schematics, write intra-departmental communication, and apply basic math concepts.
• Utilize troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
• Effectively communicate with mentors, peers, and internal customers.
• Perform basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to utilize Thrive, obtain LO/TO authorization, and become Electrically Qualified team member.

Responsibilities

• Perform and accurately record scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment including hoists, paint systems, machining centers, and weld systems.
• Create a positive customer experience when working with mentors, peers, and internal customers.
• Accurately utilize the Thrive maintenance data system.
• Perform basic maintenance functions of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical equipment in partnership with managers or senior technicians, adhering to safety protocols as an Authorized Lockout/Tagout Team Member and as Electrically Qualified when applicable.

Job Summary

In this role you will not only perform preventative maintenance within manufacturing, but you will support the repair and maintenance needs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electrical systems supporting production. We’re looking for a customer-focused team player who is excited to perform work that directly impacts the success of the production team.

What You’ll Do

• 1. Perform and accurately record scheduled preventative maintenance procedures on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, hoists, paint systems, machining centers, and weld systems.
• 2. Create a positive customer experience when working with mentors, peers, and internal customers.
• 3. Accurately utilize the maintenance data system Thrive.
• 4. Perform basic maintenance functions of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical equipment in partnership, with, or under the guidance of managers or senior/experienced maintenance technicians in assigned maintenance systems, while adhering to safety protocols as an Authorized Lockout/Tagout Team Member and, when applicable, as an Electrically Qualified Team Member.

What We’re Looking For

• - High School Diploma/HiSet and a minimum of two years of basic trades (maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electrical systems)/manufacturing experience; or associate’s degree in basic trades preferred; or equivalent combination of education/experience required; experience working within Vermeer manufacturing, preferred.
• - Ability to operate or learn to operate hand and power tools, volt meters, read blueprints and electrical schematics, write intra-departmental communication, and apply concepts of basic math.
• - Utilize troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
• - Effectively communicate with mentors, peers, and internal customers.
• - Perform basic Microsoft Office skills.
• - Ability to utilize Thrive, obtain LO/TO authorization, and become certified as an Electrically Qualified team member.
