Job summary

Vermeer seeks a Second Shift production lead to guide the day-to-day work of our production team and partner with other areas to improve processes and meet customer demand. You will communicate clearly, train teammates, and direct work with technical expertise to ensure smooth flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or HiSET required.
• One year manufacturing-related experience.
• Ability to lead others in alignment with Vermeer characteristics and behaviors.
• Ability to perform problem solving techniques and implement counter measures.
• Understanding of performance measurements including safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory.
• Understanding of lean principles.
• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action in multiple situations.
• Understanding of equipment and machinery operation.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply lean principles to support the team and complete follow-up items from Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.
• Collect current and accurate information on the managing for daily improvement (MDI) board to drive completion of counter measures and communicate with team members.
• Ensure team members have appropriate tools to effectively complete their job tasks.
• Prioritize opportunities for current team member development and facilitate training of new team members.
• Ensure cross-training is in place for maximum coverage and support of processes.
• Ensure execution of countermeasures to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Scorecard requirements.

Job Summary
