Job summary

Kelly Services seeks an Equipment Maintenance Technician in Hanover Park, IL to support a premier manufacturing client. You will train operators, perform diagnostics, and complete preventive maintenance on electro‑mechanical equipment. The role requires strong English communication and the ability to read blueprints.

Day shift is 6:45 pm–7:00 am with a 2/2/3 schedule. Pay ranges from $35.00 to $38.00 per hour, with overtime or on‑call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent education is required.
• 2–5 years’ electro‑mechanical equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing or equivalent.
• Clear English communication, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with hand tools, test/calibration equipment, and maintenance tracking programs.
• Ability to troubleshoot at the IO level and apply basic mathematics.
• Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email).
• Forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Train and coordinate machine operators in equipment maintenance.
• Troubleshoot non-functioning electro‑mechanical equipment to resolve issues.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment per blueprints or manuals.
• Use diagnostic/test equipment for checkouts and calibration; rebuild equipment as needed.
• Perform and document scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Move and install equipment; source parts when necessary.
• Follow security and safety policies; possible overtime or on‑call assignments.

What’s a typical day as Equipment Maintenance Technician? You’ll be:

• Training and coordinating activities of machine operators in equipment maintenance
  
• Troubleshooting non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment to resolve issues
  
• Dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment per blueprints or manuals
  
• Using diagnostic/test equipment for checkouts and calibration; rebuilding equipment as needed
  
• Performing and documenting scheduled preventive maintenance
  
• Moving and installing equipment as required; sourcing equipment parts when necessary
  
• Complying with company security and safety policies, including potential overtime or on-call assignments

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have an Associate’s degree in electronics (servo positioning theory) or equivalent education
  
• Possess 2-5 years’ experience in electro-mechanical equipment maintenance within manufacturing, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  
• Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  
• Are skilled in using hand tools, test/calibration equipment, and maintenance tracking programs
  
• Can troubleshoot at the IO level and understand basic mathematics
  
• Are proficient with computers (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email)
  
• Understand electronic color codes, safety practices, and may have forklift certification
