Job summary

Bloom Energy is looking for an Equipment Maintenance Technician in Fremont, CA for a full-time on-site role. The technician will troubleshoot and repair machinery while executing preventive maintenance schedules and performing machine installations as needed.

Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, strong mechanical skills, and electrical knowledge, including experience up to 480VAC.

This position involves a day shift from 6am to 6pm, Thursday through Saturday, with alternating Wednesdays.

Job Overview

Equipment Maintenance Technician in Fremont, CA. Full‑time, on‑site day shift (6am–6pm) Thursday through Saturday with alternating Wednesdays. Reports to Equipment Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair all downed machines in Stack Manufacturing.
• Perform machine installations or modifications as instructed.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules.
• Review spares inventory and notify the spares team when parts are used.
• Evaluate equipment, create maintenance procedures and error logs (high priority).
• Suggest improvements to tool set.
• Implement engineering upgrades to machines.
• Support equipment testing group.
• Ensure proper LOTO compliance.
• Be able to lift 50lbs as needed.
• Be able to maneuver into tight spaces or on the ground to perform repairs.
• Be able to stand, crouch, kneel, bend over, or adopt other non‑normal positions for extended periods to perform repairs.
• Be able to stand or walk for extended periods in a large manufacturing facility.
• Use a PC and software such as Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and CMMS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Well‑rounded mechanical skills (pneumatics, vacuum systems, motor alignment, hoists, etc.).
• Electrical experience up to 480VAC (VFDs, motor/encoder systems, high‑temperature systems up to 1200°C).
• Experience with PLC & Automation.
• Welding experience (MIG, TIG, Arc) is a plus.
• Precision measurement and adjustment skills (laser measurements).
• Experience with Rolling Hearth Kilns (maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs).
• Superior written, verbal, and active listening skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Word and Excel; PowerPoint is a plus.
• Highly motivated self‑starter capable of self‑management with minimal oversight.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on multi‑disciplinary teams.
