Overview

The Equipment Maintenance Manager ensures that Skorpios’s semiconductor processing (CMP, etch, films, lithography, wet tools), metrology, and packaging equipment is clean, stable, and available for a 24×365 semiconductor fab operation. The Equipment Maintenance Manager ensures rapid response to equipment failures, as well as execution of preventive maintenance plans to minimize failures. The Equipment Maintenance Manager analyzes equipment availability, MTBF and MTTR, failure modes and mode changes to update protocols or identify negative trends and propose mitigation plans. This position is expected to work closely with the manufacturing team and engineering for scheduling and troubleshooting of issues and requires direct engagement and hands-on activities for equipment repairs in the cleanroom.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct equipment maintenance staff to enact repairs and perform preventive maintenance; improve staff efficiencies.
• Identify and manage critical spare parts, including pumps and orings.
• Manage vendor contracts and the FSE and parts management that accompanies them. Search for hard-to-find parts, schedule non-contract FSE work, and find creative solutions to tool failures.
• Analyze equipment downtime and utilization data to find trends, then recommend corrective or preventive actions.
• Ensure scheduling of resources includes cross-training for equipment maintenance technicians.

Work Environment

• Equipment Maintenance Technicians & the Manager work up to 12-hour shifts in a wafer fab.
• Roughly 75-80% of the day is spent in a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment; must be able to tolerate full coverage cleanroom gown, boots, hood, safety glasses, and other PPE.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to prevent exposure to hazardous materials such as low/high voltage, gases, high air pressure, chemicals, solvents, and acids.
• Some areas require hearing protection.
• Frequent gowning and de-gowning expected.
• Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected.

Expected Salary Range

USD 150,000 to 170,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
