Qualifications

• 15+ years coordinating construction projects and installations.
• Fluent reading of P&IDs, mechanical layouts, structural drawings, and electrical/pneumatic schematics.

• Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Equipment Integration: manage physical intake, placement, tie-ins, and downtime crane/rigging moves.
• Shift & Crew Management: direct trade crews during weekend shutdowns and outages.
• Engineering-to-Field Translation: translate design intent to on-site execution and resolve fit/assembly issues.
• Logistics & Safety Documentation: prepare and follow JSAs, Lift Plans, Job Plans, and Work Breakdowns.

This role focuses on utilizing engineering designs for heavy industrial machinery, specifically related to Primary Processing equipment (e.g., sortation, conveyance, bulk handling, breaking/crushing, or washing systems) as well as managing the physical execution on during high-impact, weekend installation windows.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Integration ("Project North Pole"): Managing the physical intake, placement, mechanical/electrical tie-ins, and export/removal of machinery during downtime.
• Shift & Crew Management: Directing trade crews (millwrights, pipefitters, electricians, riggers) during intensive, time-critical weekend shut-ins.
• Engineering-to-Field Translation: Acting as the "translator" between design engineers in offices and trade workers on the floor to solve fit/assembly issues in real time.
• Logistics & Safety Documentation: Ensuring Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Lift Plans, Job Plans, and Work Breakdown Schedules are created, verified, and strictly followed.

Requirements

15 + years of experience working in coordination of construction projects and installations

Technical & Mechanical Literacy

• Blueprints & Schematics: Must fluently read P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), Mechanical Layouts, Structural Drawings, and Electrical/Pneumatic schematics.
• Equipment Knowledge: Direct experience with industrial processing equipment (conveyors, drives, motors, hydraulic power units, sorting equipment, or heavy machinery).
• Workplace Tools: Proficiency with construction/project management tools (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam) to manage and update job schedules/plans.
• Trade & Field Management (Hands-On Experience)

Contractor Management

• Background managing union/non-union trade contractors, riggers, and millwrights.
• Proven history working shift work or planned outage schedules

High-Stress Decision Making

• Able to resolve real-world conflicts between engineering designs and physical field conditions while maintaining timeline expectations.

Clear Communication

• Comfortable communicating safety and field execution with trade supervisors, stakeholders, etc., and reporting progress as well as risks to senior engineers and management.

Ideal Candidate Backgrounds

• Industrial Construction Coordinator / Shutdown Coordinator with experience in manufacturing, food & beverage processing, mining, or logistics hubs.
