Responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety and quality.
• Evaluate processes using cycle time, takt time and quality criteria; manage improvement projects.
• Design tools, fixtures and machines used to assemble and inspect products.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process flow diagrams, and SOPs for assembly and production.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure manufacturability and provide input on design changes.
• Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and tooling.
• Monitor KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Apply lean principles and 80/20 to drive continuous improvement.
• Source and plan installations of new equipment and ensure proper operation.
• Train production staff on new processes and technologies.
• Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with maintenance; support automation initiatives.

Summary

TheManufacturingEngineerwillplayakeyroleinthemanufacturingofhighlyengineeredequipment.Thisindividualwillberesponsiblefordesigning,implementing,andoptimizingmanufacturingprocesses,workflowsandphysicalworkcellstoenhanceefficiencieswhilealsoworkingtoreducewaste,improveproductqualityandenhanceworkplacesafety.Thequalifiedcandidatewillcollaboratecloselywithcross-functionalteams–includingproduction,quality,engineering,continuousimprovement,andfacilities.Responsibilitiesincluderesearching,designing,anddevelopingnewequipment,systems,procedures,andsolutionstosupportnewproductintroductionandexistingproductoptimization,whilealsoworkingtoaddressproductionconstraintsrelatedtoprocessesandtooling.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Design,implement,andoptimizemanufacturingprocessestoimprovesafety,efficiency,reducewaste,andenhanceproductquality.
• Evaluatesmanufacturingprocessesbasedoncycletime,TAKTtime,andqualitycriteria,suchasefficiencyandspeed;managesprocess-improvementprojects
• Designstools,fixturesandmachinesusedtoassemble,manufactureandinspectproducts.
• Developandmaintainworkinstructions,processflowdiagrams,andstandardoperatingproceduresforairblowerassemblyandproduction.
• Collaboratewithengineeringteamstoensuremanufacturabilityofnewproducts,providinginputondesignchangestoimproveproductionefficiency.
• Implementandmaintainpreventativemaintenanceprogramsforproductionequipmentandtooling.
• Monitorkeyperformanceindicators(KPIs)suchascycletimes,downtime,anddefectratestoidentifyimprovementopportunities.
• Utilizeleanmanufacturingprinciplesand80/20toolstodrivecontinuousimprovementinitiatives.
• Sourcesandplans:installsnewequipmentandensuresthatitoperatescorrectly;trainsotherstooperatenewmachinery
• Trainandsupportproductionstaffonnewprocesses,equipment,andtechnologies.
• Troubleshootsmalfunctioningequipmentandpartnerswithmanufacturertosupportequipmentrepair
• Developsandimplementsmanufacturing,productionandISOcertificationproceduresandprocesses
• AssistswithEH&Sprojectstomaintainasafemanufacturingenvironment.
• Maintainsknowledgeofnewanddevelopingmanufacturingtechnology,equipment,andapplications;appliesthisknowledgetorecommendandimplementnewtechnologyandprocesses
• Supportpotentialautomationinitiativesforassemblyandinspectionprocesses
• Performsotherdutiesasassignedwithinscopeofposition
