Crete Carrier Corporation in Pauls Valley, OK is seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Inspector to inspect inbound tractors and trailers for operating and DOT defects, ensuring safety and compliance. You will perform thorough inspections of tractors, trailers, reefers, and tires, and you will record defects in the maintenance system while coordinating repairs with drivers and shop personnel.

• High School diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced, noisy environment around moving equipment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance records and orders.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Inspects in-bound tractors and trailers to identify operating and DOT defects, ensuring safety and compliance.

• Conducts thorough inspections of tractors, trailers, reefers, and tires.
• Records identified defects in the maintenance system.
• Communicates identified defects to the driver and shop personnel to administer repairs.
• Maintains positive relationships with shop staff and drivers.
• Receives and carries out instructions.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge or willingness to learn how to identify tractor, trailer, and refer defects.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to identify mechanical issues.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create and read work orders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced, noisy environment around moving equipment.
• Ability to regularly lift 50lbs and occasionally lift up to 100lbs.
• Must be able to inspect vehicles to determine repairs needed.
• Good vision to inspect repair work.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

• DOT brake inspection certification as required by supervisor and/or location
