Dahlke Trailer Sales in Fridley, MN is seeking a DOT Inspection Technician and Light-Duty Truck Mechanic to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on tractors and trailers.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of DOT inspection requirements and the ability to diagnose and repair vehicle issues while maintaining compliance with applicable safety regulations. No engine work is performed.

• Experience with truck, tractor and trailer repair.
• Knowledge of DOT inspection procedures and FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
• Experience with brakes, suspension and airbags.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and shop tools.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable DOT Inspection Technician / Light-Duty Truck Mechanic to perform vehicle safety inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs on tractors and trailers.

The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of DOT inspection requirements, and the ability to diagnose and repair vehicle issues while maintaining compliance with applicable safety regulations.

We do not perform any work on engines

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform DOT annual inspections and vehicle safety inspections.
• Inspect brakes, tires, steering, suspension, lighting, and other safety-related components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine tractor servicing

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• DOT inspection experience or applicable inspector qualifications.
• Experience working on fleet vehicles and light-duty diesel trucks.
• Preventative maintenance experience.
• CDL preferred but not required.
