Job summary

  • Coordinate maintenance with EES Manager and team; provide updates.
  • Assist in data collection and trend analysis for tool reliability.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians; participate in team meetings for improvements.

Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain various wafer processing tools as directed by management, equipment engineers or senior technicians.
  • Run equipment to validate that corrective actions were successful.
  • Coordinate and perform reactive maintenance and scheduled preventive maintenance on wafer and assembly processing tools to maintain optimal uptime, including support equipment such as pumps, power supplies, and gas cabinets.
  • Track, record, and communicate progress of maintenance work on Fab, Back End, and Assembly equipment.
  • Train and mentor new team members.
  • Work independently and in a team environment when required.
  • Apply appropriate troubleshooting skills to correctly repair common failures.
  • Assist senior technicians and engineers in data collection to resolve recurring equipment issues.
  • Utilize available training materials, aids, and certification requirements to meet personal improvement goals.
  • Participate in team meetings for continuous improvements and attend vendor off‑site training as required.
  • Be a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering, Facilities, Test Engineering and other departments.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with the EES Manager, EES Engineers, and Technicians.
  • Provide timely updates and communications on equipment status to management and through the Camstar system.
  • Travel domestically and internationally when required.
Education & Experience

Preferred Minimum Education: Military Electronics certification or an AS technical degree in electronics.

Expected Minimum Years Of Related Experience: 2+ years maintaining wafer processing equipment.

Preferred maintenance knowledge of the following equipment:

  • Plasmatherm LAPECVD, Matrix Asher, Koyo vertical furnace, Lam rainbow, Oxford ICP, KLA/SPTS ICP, WET Etch Process, RENA Semi Auto Wet System, MEI SRD, TEL Mark Vz, ACT 8, ASML 5500
Skills
  • Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, math, computers, and testing.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products.
  • Strong troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn operational concepts of systems to diagnose and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts, and cause‑and‑effect diagrams.
  • Ability to set up, operate, and interpret output of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital volt‑ohm meters, current and voltage sources, and chart recorders.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to established company and departmental policies.
  • Must meet requirements for the Emergency Response Team.
  • Problem solving: able to troubleshoot intermediate issues with minimal guidance.
  • Initial responder for unscheduled down tools.
  • Understand and follow written procedures and verbal instructions in preventive maintenance of wafer fab equipment.
  • Self‑motivated and organized, able to manage daily work as directed by management, equipment engineers, or senior technicians.
  • Effective communication of progress and task completion.
Additional Skills
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries.
  • Apply mathematical concepts such as exponents and logarithms for data analysis as required.
  • Problem solve, collect data, and establish facts to draw valid solutions.
  • Interpret technical instructions both written and verbal.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with internal customers.
  • Basic understanding of processes run on tool sets to interface with the process team.
  • Mentor junior team members.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to:
    • Work in a Class 100/1000 clean room.
    • Wear full clean room attire.
    • Work with and/or around chemicals such as acids and solids.
    • Work with and/or around gases, both hazardous and non‑hazardous.
    • Stand for up to 10 hours at a time.
    • Lift 50 pounds or push/pull up to 150 pounds.
    • Maintain flexibility to work a compressed shift (alternate between 3 and 4 consecutive 12‑hour shifts weekly) or Monday–Friday 9.5‑hour shifts when needed.
    • Maintain an ERT clearance through periodic physicals.
Safety Requirements
  • Must be able to pass and maintain an ERT clearance through periodic physicals.
Quality & Environmental Responsibilities

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
