Job summary

Wolfspeed’s Wafer Operations team is seeking an Equipment Engineer to join our Durham, NC headquarters. You will drive continuous improvement by installing equipment and designing modifications, owning multiple projects and tracking key metrics in a 24x7 Materials operation.

The role follows a M-F, 7a-4p schedule in support of our Durham facility. You will manage budgets, installations and productivity improvements while troubleshooting diverse systems across mechanical, electrical, networking,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably semiconductor.
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team, owning tasks and projects.
• MS Office suite proficiency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital expansion projects from budgeting to installation to production.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to improve yield, throughput, uptime and safety.
• Handle multiple projects concurrently with limited supervision.
• Own toolsets and track/Improve critical metrics for uptime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, networking, PLC, vacuum and related systems.
