Job summary

Kiewit Equipment Services is seeking an Equipment Engineer Intern to gain hands-on, real-world learning in construction management. You will support regional operations, focusing on planning, scheduling, budgeting, and fleet reliability while collaborating with experienced teams.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, MET, Diesel Technology, or Automotive Technology.
Ability to travel or relocate as needed.
Ability to work full-time during the summer (May–August).
Willingness to engage in hands-on construction management tasks.

Responsibilities

Understand and comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Material handling and procurement.
Create and maintain tool/filter lists and documentation.
Inspections of equipment and parts.
Logistics management and communication.
Long/short range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
Planning for critical lifts and paperwork processing.
Use reliability data to increase equipment availability and reliability.
Establish and maintain communications between all levels of supervision and management.
Support of craft maintenance technicians and inventory management.
