Job summary

Illumina is seeking an Equipment Engineer 2 to sustain and improve automated manufacturing equipment used in Flow Cell Manufacturing. You will troubleshoot, analyze performance data, and implement reliability programs while collaborating with Manufacturing Ops, Engineering, Quality, and Validation teams.

The role balances hands-on floor support with documentation, experimentation, and continuous improvement, requiring strong problem-solving and clear technical communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related technical discipline with 2+ years of experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Experience with PLCs, robotics, machine vision, sensors, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and sustain assigned equipment subsystems and components within automated manufacturing systems.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance, calibration, and reliability programs.
• Analyze equipment data to identify failure trends and drive improvements.
• Support installation, integration, and readiness activities for equipment.
