Job summary

Texas Instruments in Richardson, TX is seeking an Equipment Engineer to drive selection, installation, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment.

You will evaluate equipment, study performance and reliability, and create maintenance schedules while supporting repair and process teams to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • 2 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience as Equipment Engineer/Technician in CVD, PVD, Dry/Plasma Etch or Ash.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select and order equipment for manufacturing products.
  • Oversee installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Keep current on equipment manufacturers' notices, upgrades and safety issues.
  • Study equipment performance and reliability.
  • Develop programs to increase uptime and address equipment problems.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering teams.
  • Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities include:


  • Evaluating, selecting, and ordering equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products

  • Overseeing the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment

  • Keeping current on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues

  • Studying equipment performance and reliability

  • Establishing programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process

  • Providing technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations

  • Defining and writing preventative maintenance schedules


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics or related engineering degree

  • 2 years of experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment as an Equipment Engineer or Technician within CVD, PVD, Dry/Plasma Etch, or Ash.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, and SPC techniques. Experienced with semiconductor cleanroom protocol and behaviors.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions

  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery

  • Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationship

  • Equipment and process experience with AMAT and/or LAM Equipment

  • Equipment and process experience with CVD or other high vacuum and/or ultra high vacuum equipment
