Job summary

Texas Instruments is seeking an Equipment Engineer for its Dallas-area semiconductor manufacturing operations. The role involves supporting a high-volume 300mm wafer fab, selecting and maintaining critical manufacturing equipment, and driving uptime with data-driven improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering degree and at least five years in a semiconductor fab environment, with strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment as an Equipment or Fab engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate, select, and order equipment for production.
  • Oversee installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Keep current on equipment manufacturers' notices, upgrades and safety issues.
  • Study equipment performance and reliability; participate in data analysis and problem resolution.
  • Perform lots and equipment dispositions to minimize cycle time in a high-volume 300mm wafer fab.
  • Establish programs/solutions to increase uptime and address equipment problems.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and process engineering groups.
  • Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support manufacturing operations
  • Evaluating, selecting, and ordering equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products
  • Overseeing the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
  • Keeping current on equipment manufacturers\' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues
  • Studying equipment performance and reliability - Participate in data analysis and problem resolution
  • Perform lot and equipment dispositions to support the continuous flow of production and to minimize cycle time in a high volume manufacturing 300mm wafer Fab running Analog Technologies
  • Establishing programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process
  • Providing technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations
  • Defining and writing preventative maintenance schedules

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor\'s degree Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics or related engineering degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment as an Equipment Engineer or Fab engineer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in engineering change control - specific Equipment experience with AMAT CMP tool
  • Equipment experience on other equipment (e.g., AMAT, Veeco, TEL, Novellus, and/or ASM)
  • Experience on tool monitoring and interdiction software, and equipment maintenance and documentation
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, and SPC techniques. Experienced with semiconductor cleanroom protocol and behaviors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationship
