Job summary

Elgin Sweeper Company in Elgin, IL is seeking a field demonstrations specialist to showcase equipment to customers and aid sales with detailed, benefit-focused descriptions. You will build product expertise, maintain gear readiness, and travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering on new updates, assisting with trade shows, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations while supporting cost control through accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred.
• CDL Class A with 1–3 years driving experience.
• Experience operating equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate equipment to customers, primarily Pelican sweeper, with dealer personnel.
• Assist sales with walk-around descriptions highlighting features and benefits.
• Develop deep knowledge of Elgin products, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and operator training.
• Maintain correct mechanical function of equipment and accessories.
• Prepare daily activity forms for billing to sales channels; prepare expense reports for training and demos.
• Transport demonstration equipment to/from customer locations.
• Comply with DOT regulations for transportation of equipment.
• Provide customers with guidance to solve product/applications problems.
• Assist engineering/ESG lab with testing and design validation when available.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on special requests from on-site training.
• Assist with setup and trade show activities.
