Job summary

Highway Transport in Knoxville, TN seeks an Equipment Cleaning Technician to clean and inspect tank trailers and ISO containers, ensuring removal of residual product and a thorough post-cleaning check of interior and exterior surfaces.

You will operate atmospheric testing equipment, manage confined space safety procedures, and complete paperwork for shipping, billing and safety using facility software, while maintaining a clean, safe wash environment on the weekend shift.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years relevant experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively perform duties to clean and inspect tank trailers and ISO units.
• Operate atmospheric testing equipment and understand rescue equipment use in confined spaces.
• Complete paperwork for Confined Space Entry, shipping and receiving of cleaned units, and operation of facility software for TW tickets, billing, safety, etc.
• Maintain an environment of cleanliness and safety within the wash facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Equipment Cleaning Technician is responsible for performing all aspects of tank trailer and ISO cleaning, including inspecting the trailer for residual product, and post-cleaning inspection of the interior/exterior of the trailer. . Location: Knoxville, TN Pay Range: $20.43-$30.76 Shift: Weekend Shift

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively perform all duties to prepare, clean and inspect tank trailers and ISO’s, including but not limited to: vents, valves, clean-out caps, clamps, loading/unloading lines, hoses, and other equipment that is to be cleaned as per normal tank cleaning procedures.
• Properly operate atmospheric testing equipment and understand the use and care of rescue equipment use in confined space rescue.
• Complete paperwork for Confined Space Entry, shipping and receiving of cleaned units, and operation of facility software for TW tickets, billing, safety, etc.
• Maintain an environment of cleanliness and safety within the wash facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications

• 1-2 years relevant experience preferred but not required.

Skills Required

• Ability to speak, read, and understand English for comprehension of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) chemical information
• Ability to operate yard truck to move equipment
• Ability to navigate basic computer software and other business-related software.
• Excellent attention to details Mechanical ability and inclination

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Normal environment is outdoors.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pushing pulling up to 50 to 100 lbs.
• Confined space entry is required.
• Must wear proper PPE.
