Job summary

Highway Transport in Houston, TX is seeking an Equipment Cleaning Technician to thoroughly clean tank trailers and ISO units, inspect interiors and exteriors, and confirm no residual product remains. The role supports safety and quality in the cleaning process and operates within a fast-paced wash facility.

The position requires operation of a yard truck, adherence to confined space procedures, and accurate completion of paperwork and system entries for TW tickets, billing, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and understand SDS chemical information in English.
• Ability to operate a yard truck to move equipment.
• Ability to navigate basic computer software and business-related software.
• Strong attention to detail; mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare, clean, inspect tank trailers and ISO units per standard procedures.
• Operate atmospheric testing equipment and use rescue equipment for confined space safety.
• Complete paperwork for Confined Space Entry, shipping/receiving of cleaned units, and TW tickets/billing/safety software.
• Maintain a clean, safe wash facility environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Equipment Cleaning Technician is responsible for performing all aspects of tank trailer and ISO cleaning, including inspecting the trailer for residual product and post‑cleaning inspection of the interior/exterior of the trailer.

Location: Houston, TX (La Porte). Pay Range: $20.43‑$30.76. Shift Type: Second (2pm to 10:30pm) & Weekend (4am to 2:30pm).

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively prepare, clean, and inspect tank trailers and ISO’s, including vents, valves, clean‑out caps, clamps, loading/unloading lines, hoses, and other equipment as per normal tank cleaning procedures.
• Operate atmospheric testing equipment and use rescue equipment for confined space rescue.
• Complete paperwork for Confined Space Entry, shipping and receiving of cleaned units, and operate facility software for TW tickets, billing, safety, etc.
• Maintain an environment of cleanliness and safety within the wash facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications: 1‑2 years of relevant experience preferred but not required.
• Skills: Ability to speak, read, and understand English for comprehension of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) chemical information; ability to operate a yard truck to move equipment; ability to navigate basic computer software and other business‑related software; excellent attention to detail; mechanical ability and inclination.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• Must lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 50 to 100 lbs.
• Confined space entry required; must wear proper PPE.
• Normal environment is outdoors.
