Job summary

Silgan Closures is hiring a Senior Equipment Assembler for our Waukegan, IL facility on the 1st shift (Mon–Fri). Starting pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for advancement.

This is a non-union shop within a Global Fortune 500 packaging company focused on sustainable metal and plastic packaging solutions. You will assemble machine parts to close-tolerance specifications from blueprints, verify BOMs, gather hardware, drill or saw parts as

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in mechanical production environments and using precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble machine parts to tight tolerances from blueprint instructions.
• Ensure parts are available for subassembly by checking against bill of materials.
• Work with engineering to verify blueprints/spec sheets and gather hardware for assembly.
• Drill or saw parts as necessary and assist in moving machinery with hoists or lift trucks.
• Perform welding tasks (MIG, TIG, ARC, Spot, Braze) on stainless steel.
