Job summary

Airgas is seeking an Equipment Assembler in Piscataway, NJ. The role involves assembling diverse gas handling equipment, following drawings and published requirements, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with hand tools are essential. You will collaborate with the team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, participate in safety programs, and may assist in warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with hand tools in a clean work environment.
  • Ability to read simple instructions and to write simple correspondence and present information.
  • Basic math and ability to perform rate, ratio and percent calculations.
  • Ability to read product specifications and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products per drawings and published requirements.
  • Operate production facilities in alignment with SOPs, safety and quality policies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and perform minor adjustments and repairs.
  • Collaborate with team to achieve shared production goals and communicate findings.
  • Support warehouse and inventory tasks as needed and assist in repairs/return area.

This position requires the ability to assemble components into finished assemblies requiring 150 ft pounds of torque. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
