Job summary

Culver Academies, located in Culver, Indiana, seeks a Stable Manager to oversee daily care of a 94-horse herd within the Horsemanship program. You will lead up to 16 rider/grooms and 4 second-shift grooms, schedule work patterns, and coordinate with the Director of Horsemanship to maintain a fit, healthy herd delivering training outputs.

This role requires strong leadership, compliance with health and safety standards, and occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of stable yard management experience with horses.
• Degree in equine management or equine science preferred.
• Effective communicator with professional interaction.
• People management experience leading 12+ employees; hiring, development, coaching.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred; clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel on overnight trips.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage daily care for a herd of 94 horses.
• Schedule and supervise up to 20 staff across 7 days.
• Collaborate with Director of Horsemanship to keep herd fit and healthy.
• Ensure training outputs meet program requirements.
