Job summary

Humane Colorado seeks a hybrid equine care and trainer to provide daily care for all horses, perform training, and assist with adoptions. You will maintain health records, support adoption processes, and coordinate with veterinarians and farriers.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Horsemanship and high-level riding abilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Colt starting and handling challenging equines.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for all equines including feeding, watering, and records.
• Observe animals for illness or behavioral issues and report findings.
• Maintain clean, safe facilities and equipment; assist with kennels, stalls, and barns.
• Support adoptions by interviewing adopters, sharing basic medical information, and processing paperwork.
• Work with veterinarians and farriers on medical evaluations and shoeing.
• Develop and implement training programs for horses, including groundwork and under-saddle work.
• Train volunteers in horsemanship and assist staff with general care.
