Job summary

Oakridge Equine Hospital in Edmond, OK is seeking an RVT or Veterinary Assistant with equine anesthesia experience to support our busy twelve-doctor practice. You will assist with appointments, procedures, and treatments, monitor hospitalized patients, and safely handle horses in a high-volume setting.

Ideal candidates have excellent communication and organizational skills, can work independently and in a team, and are eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• RVT or veterinary assistant with equine anesthesia experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational and people skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced equine hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with appointments, procedures and treatments.
• Monitor and care for hospitalized patients.
• Safely handle and restrain horses.
• Maintain medical records and client communication.
• Ensure cleaning, biosecurity, and restocking of equipment.
• Run equine anesthesia including inhalant and total intravenous anesthesia.
