Job summary

Oakridge Equine Hospital in Edmond, OK is seeking a full-time veterinary technician to support our twelve-doctor practice, including boarded surgeons and an ICU team. You will rotate through services with each surgeon, our internal medicine specialist, ICU and anesthesia to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, a background with equine knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, organizational and people skills.
• Equine knowledge is a must, with strong work ethic.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Training provided on-site for anesthesia and other services.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with appointments, procedures and treatments.
• Monitor and care for hospitalized patients.
• Safely handle and restrain horses.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support client communication.
• Ensure proper cleaning, biosecurity and restocking of equipment and supplies.
