The role involves working primarily on weekends with some weekday afternoons/evenings, light riding, grooming, and program support around horses. Responsibilities include assisting with trail rides, birthday parties, lessons, and other equestrian activities, while maintaining safe riding practices and a tidy, well-organized environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent horse husbandry and horse handling skills.
• Basic knowledge of horse health, first aid and nutrition.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
• Ability to build effective working relationships.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all equestrian programs: trail rides, birthdays, lead line rides, adopt a horse, general programs, lessons.
• Assist lessons by pulling horses and teaching grooming, saddling, and bridling.
• Teach participants how to be safe around horses on the ground.
• Keep program areas clean and presentable.
• Ensure tack is cleaned regularly and grooming boxes are organized.
• Other duties as assigned.
