Jobot is seeking an Attorney (EPL / Employment Practices Liability) for a partnership-track role in Chicago with hybrid remote options. The candidate will defend professional lines matters, manage full litigation from inception to trial, and work with insurers and employers on EPL, D&O, and E&O claims.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of insurance defense experience—professional lines focus required.
• Illinois Bar Admission required.
• Strong written communication skills—carrier reporting is a core function.
• Defense side only—no plaintiff, no in-house, no carrier-side candidates.
• 1,950 billable hour expectation.
• Federal court experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Defend a varied caseload of professional lines matters with an EPL focus.
• Handle all phases of litigation from inception through resolution—pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Defend insurers, employers, professionals, and brokers against EPL, D&O, and E&O policies.
• Evaluate liability, damages and provide strategic guidance on case strategy, settlements, and resolution.
• Prepare detailed client reports and carrier communications with clarity and precision.
