Job summary

Wolfspeed’s SiC Epitaxy R&D team seeks an Engineering Technician to support epitaxy process development through experiments, characterization, equipment operation and maintenance. Collaborate with operators, technicians, engineers across Production and R&D to advance objectives and keep equipment running reliably.

Responsibilities include loading reactors, tracking wafers, wafer characterization, data collection and documentation, plus developing procedures and training staff.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience (military or hands-on) required.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a clean-room environment (>80% of time).
  • Good dexterity with fragile wafers and process equipment.
  • Solid mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High energy, self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Eligible to access US export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Process Operations & Experimental Support: load/operate epitaxy reactors and track wafers.
  • Data Collection & Documentation: ensure accurate data collection and clear updates.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Reliability: perform preventive maintenance on epitaxy reactors.
  • Procedure Development & Training: develop procedures and train staff.
  • Project Management: lead small projects and contribute to cross-functional work.
  • Continuous Improvement: participate in safety, quality and efficiency initiatives.
