Job summary

Summa Health in Akron, OH seeks an experienced Epilepsy Specialist to join the Summa Health Neurosciences Institute and advance a comprehensive epilepsy program. The role involves complex epilepsy care within a technology-driven health system, with opportunities to influence diagnostics, treatment pathways and future growth.

The position supports a mix of clinic and inpatient/EMU duties, a fully equipped neurophysiology laboratory, and collaboration with neurosurgical partners.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology.
• Completion of an Epilepsy fellowship.
• Interest in teaching and resident education.
• Commitment to patient-centered, team-based care.
• License in Ohio or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

Summa Health Medical Group is seeking an experienced Epilepsy Specialist to join the Summa Health Neurosciences Institute in Akron, Ohio. This is an exceptional opportunity to help advance a comprehensive epilepsy program within a health system that is invested in technology, innovation, advanced diagnostics, and surgical intervention for the treatment of epilepsy. The position offers the opportunity to practice complex epilepsy care while helping shape the continued growth and evolution of the program.

Summa Health's Neurosciences Institute is positioned to provide patients with access to a broad continuum of neurological services. The epilepsy program benefits from collaboration across neurology, neurocritical care, neurohospitalist and stroke services, as well as partnerships extending into pediatric and surgical care.

Candidate Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology

• Completion of an Epilepsy fellowship

• Preference for an experienced epilepsy physician with a demonstrated interest in complex epilepsy management and/or advanced epilepsy care

• Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Ohio or ability to obtain an Ohio medical license

• Interest in participating in teaching, lectures and resident education

• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered, team-based care

• Interest in clinical innovation, technology and the continued advancement of epilepsy treatment
