Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian/7F is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Technician for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. The role involves delivering hands-on patient care, monitoring patients with EEG equipment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Shifts are rotating (day/evening/night, weekends, holidays) with a minimum 36 hours per week. A mandatory training course is required for all hires, and the entry level hourly rate starts at $19.40.

Qualifications

• Minimum 36 hours per week commitment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine patient care and support services per policies.
• Under supervision of nurses/physicians, maintain high-quality patient care at all times.
• Assist with ADLs: bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning, repositioning, glucose monitoring.
• Take vital signs, perform simple dressings, 12-lead EKGs, bladder scans, and specimen collection.
• Report equipment malfunctions and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient and workplace safety, professionalism, and patient relations.
• Provide patient care, support therapies, and assist with RN-guided instruction.
• Adhere to all safety policies and document patient information accurately.
• Complete tasks timely, including clerical duties as needed.
