Moderna invites a PhD/ScD student to join the Infectious Disease Epidemiology team in Cambridge, MA for a full-time summer internship from June 7, 2027 to August 20, 2027. You will gain hands‑on epidemiologic research experience, supporting vaccine development across multiple programs and disease areas.

You will lead analyses, visualize results, and communicate findings to cross‑functional teams, with opportunities to interact with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Real‑World

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a PhD or ScD program in Epidemiology or a closely related discipline.
• Strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics.
• Experience with SAS, R, STATA, or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to the role of Epidemiology in vaccine development, supporting clinical trial conduct and post‑marketing observational research
• Lead and execute epidemiologic analyses on disease burden of infectious diseases and related health outcomes, including study design, data analysis, and interpretation of results
• Communicate findings effectively through data visualization, reports, and presentations to cross‑functional teams and leadership
• Engage with cross‑functional teams, including Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Real‑World Evidence Analytics
• Contribute to regular cross‑functional discussions on evidence generation strategies for infectious disease programs, shaping research priorities and decision‑making
