Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s with 3 years experience, or 6 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with disease surveillance data and reporting systems (REDCap, IDRIS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surveillance to detect cases and identify trends for BID.
• Support Regional Epidemiologist on epidemiologic activities in assigned region.
• Complete disease case reports in assigned regions.
• Monitor parish health units and hospitals via electronic reporting.
• Analyze and interpret infectious disease surveillance data for trends and clusters.
• Data entry in REDCap, IDRIS and other databases.
• Coordinate with physicians and health care providers to enhance surveillance.
• Prepare and maintain confidential case records and verify medical data.
• Participate in infectious disease outbreak investigations.
• Conduct interviews of diagnosed or suspected cases.
• Respond to routine public health information requests and provide statistics.
• Provide health education to at-risk communities.
