The CDC Foundation is seeking an Epidemiologist to support the New York State Department of Health. Under the direction of the New York State Department of Health, contracted staff will perform epidemiologic, other data-related investigatory services and program evaluation assistance related to the Governor’s Ending the Epidemic Initiative, the AIDS Institute Research Agenda and AIDS Institute Priority Areas.
This is a shared position between the Bureau of HIV/AIDS Epidemiology (BHAE) and the Data Analysis and Research Translation (DART) within the Division of Epidemiology, Evaluation, and Partner Services at the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing reports related to the rapid initiation of antiretroviral treatment and will collaborate with colleagues across multiple areas of the AIDS Institute to assess program needs. They will be expected to support program growth through the evaluation of program objectives. The incumbent will assist in identifying populations where newly diagnosed individuals are less likely to start antiretroviral treatment promptly.
Additionally, the incumbent will conduct routine analysis of HIV surveillance data to identify areas experiencing increases in new HIV diagnoses. The incumbent will assist with identification, discussion, monitoring, and reporting of HIV clusters of concern.
Serve as the Evaluation Coordinator for the Rapid Initiation of Antiretroviral Treatment Project (RIA).
Identify and monitor the clusters of concern using HIV case surveillance data within New York State.
Conduct data analysis and perform quality checks of data products developed by DART.
This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation andNew York State Department of Health in order to best support the New York State Department of Health in their public health programming.
