Job summary

Tech Observer in Nashville, TN is seeking a data-focused professional to support MCH surveillance projects. The role involves producing routine CHANT reports, updating SAS and REDCap changes, and assisting non-technical staff with data systems.

Hybrid work option allows remote work with monthly in-office visits. The candidate should have strong data management skills, SAS proficiency, and experience with public health data.

Qualifications

  • Proficient at managing electronic data and navigating complex databases with great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experiences in customer service and working on teams.
  • Proficient in statistical software programming, such as SAS.
  • Experience in public health and health data (vital records, health surveys) preferred.
  • Experience in deployment or implementation of application systems or related field preferred.
  • Foundation in system design, analysis and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare routine reports of program participation and outcomes to internal and external partners.
  • Implement SAS code changes and REDCap project changes as monitoring guidance evolves or processes change.
  • Provide technical assistance to non-technical staff (e.g., REDCap system, SOP/task guidance).
  • Write independent code and test output for accuracy.
  • Pull, clean, and submit recurring CHANT reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
  • Work closely with MCH Programs Team to support CHANT data outputs and visualizations.
  • Provide quick response to data inquiries and share CHANT data with regional teams, leadership and stakeholders.
  • Translate programmatic requirements into the development of appropriate data collection.
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Ability to come into the Nashville office monthly or as needed
  • Fulfill ad-hoc data and/or analysis requests

Job description
