Job description

Overview

The Epic Training Specialist II is responsible for training and supporting all clinical and administrative team members. The role involves creating training documentation and curricula, conducting technical training for new hires, and providing ongoing user training during system updates or upgrades. The specialist participates in quality assurance testing to ensure end-user requirements are met, focusing on efficient clinic workflows. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

***Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  1. Utilize standardized department tools/software to plan tasks/projects, monitor progress, and reassign resources to meet organizational objectives.
  2. Maintain knowledge of key indicators, standards, and processes related to EHR systems.
  3. Master Epic modules and relevant operational workflows.
  4. Build, test, and maintain the training environment.
  5. Ensure all training materials and classroom sessions adhere to current policies and workflows.
  6. Lead training efforts related to software upgrades and updates.
  7. Travel between Central Health clinics as needed.
  8. Serve as a Principal Trainer for Epic EHR, developing and maintaining curricula and training materials, and training trainers.
  9. Collaborate with Epic Application Analysts to develop role-specific training for software updates and new versions.
  10. Create and update training resources for various needs.
  11. Provide hands-on support to end users and document issues.
  12. Participate in testing and validating new systems and modifications prior to production deployment.
  13. Maintain excellent customer service and responsiveness to internal stakeholders.
  14. Conduct group and individual training sessions, both in person and virtually.
  15. Offer technical support via phone, online, and in person.
  16. Serve as a primary resource for EHR super-users in ticket resolution.
  17. Collaborate with analysts on upcoming EHR changes and upgrades.
  18. Coordinate system modifications with the governance team.
  19. Provide support to clinical and administrative staff to assess end-user fluency and satisfaction.
  20. Offer guidance to improve workflows and conduct observations for workflow optimization.
  21. Review system notifications and document potential workflow changes.
  22. Mentor Epic Training Specialist I.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in computer-related training, adult education, as an EHR super-user, or similar roles.
