Job summary

University of Miami Health System is seeking an Epic Senior Analyst, Beaker to lead configuration, optimisation, and maintenance of the Beaker module. You will partner with stakeholders, end-users and the IT team to ensure the software aligns with clinical workflows and supports patient care.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating testing, and contributing to training and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Epic Beaker (CP) certification preferred.
• Familiarity with lab workflows, Epic modules, and patient experiences.
• Experience in clinical pathology and lab practices preferred.
• Epic Beaker CP implementation experience preferred.
• Operational, project management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with stakeholders to optimize Beaker configuration, function, and access.
• Serves as a primary support contact for Beaker end-users.
• Initiates design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Beaker app.
• Initiates testing and documents workflow design.
• Analyzes IT impacts on clinical workflows and validates changes.
• Identifies issues and guides resolution.
• Supports junior staff in tickets and day-to-day operations.
• Develops training documentation with trainers.
• Ensures Beaker meets business and clinical needs.
• Participates in on-call rotations and committees.

Education

The UHealth- University of Miami Health System IT Department has an opportunity for a full-time Epic Senior Analyst, Beaker.

The Epic Senior Analyst, Beaker initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies complex applications, and collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access. The incumbent supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues.

Core Responsibilities:

• Collaborateswith key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access.

• Servesas a primary support contact for applicationend‐users.

• Initiates the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application.

• Initiates all phases of testing andthe documentationof workflow design.

• Performsthe analysis of information technology in clinical work processes andvalidatesthe impactstothe workflow.

• Initiates the identification of issues andguidesthe work to resolve them.

• Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operations.

• Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.

• Works with stakeholders,thebusiness community, and end users to ensure the application meetsUHealth'sbusiness/clinical needs.

• Participatesin on-call rotations and support andattendandparticipatesin,applicable committees.

• Maintains regular communication with team members, including participating in weekly project team meetings.

• Reviewsthe status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.

• Remains knowledgeable aboutUHealth’spolicies, procedures, and business operations.

• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions:

As an Epic Senior Analyst, Beaker you will report to the Senior Manager and will be responsible for:

• Providing oversight and leadership to Associate Clinical Analysts and Clinical Analysts on the team

• Initiating the implementation, build, and modification of the application

• Collaborating with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access

• Supporting junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’sdegree inrelevant field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization

• Certification in relevant specialty or field; Epic Beaker (CP) preferred

• Familiarity with lab workflows, regulatory requirements, integration points with other Epic modules, and patient experiences preferred

• Experience in clinical pathology and lab practices preferred

• Previous Epic Beaker, CP implementation experience and certification preferred

• Previous operational, project management, and organizational skills

• Ability to work evenings, nights, andweekendsas necessary.

• Proficiencyin computer software (i.e.Microsoft Office).

• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and writtenform.

• Ability to lead, motivate,developand train others.
