Job summary

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) is seeking an Epic Senior Analyst, Ambulatory/Bones to lead and optimize Epic configurations across ambulatory and bone-related workflows.

You will partner with stakeholders, end-users, and the IT team to implement, test, and maintain applications that support clinical operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; EpicCare Ambulatory, Kaleidoscope, and Bones Certifications required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization.
  • Familiarity with physician practices' workflows, hospital outpatient departments and patient experiences preferred.
  • Understanding of integration points across scheduling, lab, radiology, billing, imaging and inpatient clinical workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The incumbent supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application's configuration, function, and access.
  • Serves as a primary support contact for application end-users.
  • Initiates the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application.
  • Initiates all phases of testing and the documentation of workflow design.
  • Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validates the impacts to the workflow.
  • Initiates the identification of issues and guides the work to resolve them.
  • Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
  • Works with stakeholders, the business community, and end users to ensure the application meets UHealth's business/clinical needs.
  • Participates in on-call rotations and support and attend and participates in, applicable committees.
  • Maintains regular communication with team members, including participating in weekly project team meetings.
  • Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.

Job Summary

The Epic Senior Analyst initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies complex applications, and collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application's configuration, function, and access.

Responsibilities

Department Specific Functions

As an Epic Senior Analyst, Ambulatory/Bones, you will report to the Senior Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Providing oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team
  • Initiating the implementation, build, and modification of the application
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application's configuration, function, and access
  • Supporting junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues

Core Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field EpicCare Ambulatory, Kaleidoscope, and Bones Certifications required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization
  • Previous operational, project management, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with physician practices' workflows, hospital outpatient departments and patient experiences preferred
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology physician practices' workflows preferred
  • Understanding of a wide array of integration points, including scheduling, lab, radiology, billing, imaging, and inpatient clinical preferred
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
