Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Director of Epic Research to design, implement, and optimize research workflows within the Epic EHR for our organization. You will lead a specialized team, align with clinical, IT, and research stakeholders, and drive efficiency across research administration and trials management.

The role requires extensive Epic experience, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering complex EHR initiatives that improve care quality and research outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Healthcare Administration.
• 10+ years in healthcare IT with 8+ years in Epic environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical Epic research team, including recruitment, performance, and professional development.
• Collaborate with clinical research, operational, and IT stakeholders to design and implement workflows.
• Evaluate team member progress and provide regular feedback.
• Hold team members accountable for standards and timely deliverables; adjust staffing as needed.
• Serve as escalation point for issues and change requests; ensure timely resolution.
• Manage budgets, ensure system performance/uptime, and govern Epic and adjacent systems.
• Oversee budgets for Epic systems and related platforms supporting research.
• Support governance, vendor relations, and compliance with HIPAA, CMS, ONC, and guidelines.
• Engage teams in Epic deployments, upgrades, and integration projects.
