Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Pre-Reg/Pre-Cert Specialist in the Westwood Administration - East area. You will identify patients for pre-registration, verify demographic and insurance data, and enter information into the registration system to ensure accurate pre-service processes.

You will conduct telephone interviews to collect payer data, coordinate with clinics and patient financial advisors, and handle pre-certification and authorization for admissions and outpatient

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Experience in pre-registration or prior authorization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients for pre-registration and pre-certification.
• Collect demographic and payer data via interviews and enter into the registration system.
• Verify insurance details, eligibility, and authorizations for admissions/outpatient visits.
• Coordinate with clinics, ancillary departments, and patient financial advisors on coverage issues.
• Respond to provider or payer constraints and escalate as needed.
