Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Pain Management at Bethpage. The role involves assisting physicians and nurses, taking vitals, documenting tests, and helping maintain patient flow in a busy clinical setting.

Qualified candidates will have a Medical Assistant program graduate or equivalent experience, strong communication, and basic computer skills, with EPIC Ambulatory knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program OR 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assists with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and EKGs when needed; assist with blood collection; ensure chart is available for physician.
• Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient and prepared for the next; assist with light housekeeping.
• Assists with obtaining prescription renewals as needed and scheduling treatments.
• Stock exam and treatment rooms with medical supplies and forms.
• Assists with training of new Medical Assistants; may perform administrative responsibilities.
