Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an LIS Analyst to maintain and support the Laboratory Information System infrastructure. The role focuses on implementation, testing, training and documentation for LIS upgrades and changes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree (or 5+ years in LIS) and Beaker certification with Epic or equivalent experience. Strong SQL skills, MS Office proficiency and on-call support are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years relevant experience in LIS.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Information Systems, Medical Technology or related field.
• 2+ years of experience working with Laboratory Information Systems.
• Beaker - Epic Beams certification or proficiency required within 180 days of hire.
• ASCP MLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and mentors staff and physicians on LIS applications.
• Contributes to system upgrades, enhancements and migrations of LIS.
• Design, install, validate, test, train, document and migrate LIS components.
• Prepare documentation and training for changes; maintain project tracking.
• Generate ad hoc reports using SQL to support lab operations.
• Participate in LIS change management and on-call support.
